PS-8 Parent Club
All parents of students in preschool through grade 8 are members of the PS-8 Parent Club. There are no annual dues. Our funds are generated by family participation in fundraisers and collection projects during the year. The outstanding involvement and efforts of our students and families enable the PS-8 Parent Club to support major purchases of educational materials, technology equipment, safety items, and playground/physical environment needs. Please join us in as active of a role as possible! Financial Support Parent Club members or committees plan and coordinate three major student/family fund-raising projects during the year. ü Annual Fall Magazine Sales ü Annual Winter Pizza Sales ü Annual year-long Box Tops*, Campbell’s labels, Tyson labels collection *Kuemper ranked first in the state again, collecting over $7,000 worth of ten-cent box tops Volunteer Support In addition to committee involvement in the fundraising projects, other committees recognize students and staff in numerous ways: ü Staff Luncheon – co-sponsor with KHS Parent Club ü Student Directory – compile family information data for KCSS students ü Hot Lunch Week – recognize and thank cafeteria staff ü Catholic Schools Week – provide donuts and juice for students and staff ü Kindergarten Information Meetings – provide cookies and juice for potential students and child care for families who attend ü First Communion Gifts/Celebration – provide rosaries and host class celebration ü 8th Grade Graduation Reception – host reception following Mass; provide punch and bars ü Staff Appreciation – PT Conferences evening meal, holiday snack treats ü Class Representatives – provide grade-level support for special activities 2008-09 Projects The commitment of our families to make fundraising efforts successful allows the Parent Club to support many worthwhile major projects.
