MONDAY:  Service in Community

 

Holy Spirit Center and St. Angela Center

  • Wear a Pair - Share a Pair.  Students may wear a pair of slippers, socks, gloves or earmuffs, and donate a pair to charity.
  • Make placemats for Meals on Wheels with scripture verse and red/yellow handprints.
  • Students may bring an item representing a member from the community (apron for a cook, work gloves for a farmer, etc.)  Students may share stories and talk about community members and citizenship in their classrooms.  They will read books about community members and talk about how community  members can serve God with their jobs.

Kuemper High School

  • Students will eat lunch with their Knight Time groups.  Games planned by the L.I.F.E. Group will follow in the gym.
  • Dress Down Day for $1.  Proceeds will go towards care packages for our soldiers

 

 

 

TUESDAY:  Service in Our Students

 

Holy Spirit Center and St. Angela Center

  • Families will make a paper quilt block for their child. Each teacher will make a classroom quilt bulletin board of the students in their class.
  • Donuts/juice provided by the K-8 Parent Club.
  • No homework for our students.
  • Grade level games (such as Pictionary with religious terms or bible stories).

St. Lawrence Center 

  • Dress Down / Red & Gold Day.

Kuemper High School

  • Vocational speaker in Theology classes.
  • Knight Time activity: Scavenger Hunt on Kuemper's new website.  Each Knight Time room that submits a correct answer sheet will receive a prize.  One lucky winner will be drawn from all correct entries and receive a Party Sub from Subway.
  • Parents' Club gifts for students distributed in Knight Time.

 

     
     
        
     

WEDNESDAY:  Service in Our Nation

 

 Holy Spirit Center and St. Angela Center

  • Patriotic Assembly:  Each grade will sing a patriotic song/pledge.  Veterans will be invited to hold a flag ceremony.  If enough veterans are available, one will be asked to come to each classroom (or grade level) to discuss the importance of the flag; appropriate behavior (stand when flag comes during parades, stand and be quiet when singing star spangled banner, how to fold the flag); and march to rooms behind the veteran or legion member.
  • Dress in Red, White & Blue for $1 or a new toy (to be donated to children in Iraq).

St. Lawrence Center 

  • Donuts/juice from K-8 Parents' Club
  • Dress in Red, White & Blue for $1.  Proceeds will go towards care packages for our troops.

 

     
     
     

THURSDAY:  Service in Vocations

 

 Holy Spirit Center and St. Angela Center 

  • All-School Mass at Holy Spirit Church.
  • 4th and 5th grade beach volleyball tournament.  Winners will play against the priests, deacons & sisters. Bring beach towels to sit on.

 

St. Lawrence Center 

  • All-School Mass at Holy Spirit Church.
  • Following Mass, the 8th graders and juniors will work together in the Bishop Greteman Center to make care packages for our soldiers.
  • Volleyball tournament.

 

Kuemper High School

  • All-School Mass at Holy Spirit Church.
  • Donuts/juice provided by the KHS Parents' Club.
  • Following Mass, the juniors and 8th graders will work together in the Bishop Greteman Center to make care packages for our soldiers. 
        
     
     
     
       
   

 


FRIDAY:  Service with Teachers/Staff

 

 Holy Spirit Center and St. Angela Center 

  • Red & Gold Day.  Students may wear jeans/slicks with Kuemper shirts.
  • End-of-week celebration movies. Each grade level will choos a movie for their grade to watch. Popcorn will be provided.  Students may bring their own drink.

St. Lawrence Center 

  • 6th graders will go to Swan Lake.
  • 7th & 8th graders will go skiing at Seven Oaks in Boone.

Kuemper High School

  • Buddy Activities with elementary partners led by high school teachers & students.
  • Spirit Day.  Students may dress in Kuemper shirts/sweatshirts and jeans.
